As I sit in a little coffee shop in downtown Shelbyville, Kentucky I think about how I got here; how we got here…
The Dead River Company quickly packed our nic-nacs into sacks early Thursday morning and hopped into our yet unnamed band ambulence fleeing the summer heat quickly approaching the concrete jungle of Brooklyn. As we turned the bend off the bridge and out of New York, we found ourselves emerging from a giant black cloud and into sun rays of gold. We were determined to drive the 1.2 million miles ahead of us without food, bathroom breaks or sleep, which we accomplished through sheer will power, arriving at our new home in a mere 13 hours. We pulled onto Moody Pike, the street on which lay our destination and drove past castles of glass and chrome. Finally, a right into our driveway, a quick search for the key and down the winding path taking us where it willed us to be.

The Dead River Company soon found ourselves surrounded by a field of fireflies, shimmering in the tall grasses like the reflections of the moon on the ocean at night. We pull our rescue wagon up to the house and let ourselves in. We were greeted by a beautiful, fully furnished home, six thousand years old. As we explored the secret rooms and climed into the depths of the house, we discovered musical instruments; a lot of musical instruments, records; a lot of records, artwork; a lot of artwork.

An indiscribable feeling came over each of six members of the Dead River Company. Our feet began tapping, our arms whailing and out of our mouths came sweet sweet song.

It is now our day 3 of our excursion. While our hiatus from Brooklyn will be only for the summer months, this is not the end of our adventure.
…To Be Continued.

The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on- Down from the door where it began.
- Now far ahead the Road has gone,
- And I must follow, if I can,
- Pursuing it with eager feet,
- Until it joins some larger way
- Where many paths and errands meet.
- And whither then? I cannot say.
Join us and bid us a final farewell as we start the road to Mordor.
Bilbo’s Birthday Party/ Our going away party will be held at Petes Candy Store, 701 Lorimer St in Brooklyn in the year of our Lord 2010, on May the 15th at 10pm.

Brooklyn Grange and A few Important Items.
We had fun at the Brooklyn Grange May Day Party this weekend. They are the largest urban farm in Brooklyn right now and trying to get a bigger space up in Long Island City, Queens. Show your support and donate to them if you can or come out to their next party.
It was an honor to be supporting such an awesome cause.

A few items are on the Agenda:
1. We are picking up our government issued giant ghostbuster’s van today. It is fully equipped with all your ghost busting gear including an external p.a. system, sirens, creepy white exterior and shag rugs. If you would like a ride, please take off all your clothes and you know who you’re gonna call.
2. We are moving to Kentucky for the summer. We will be recording music, writing new songs, perfecting old ones, making you t-shirts and hopefully some fun videos. Be sure to check out our website frequently to see what we are up to.
3. We have one last show before we go. If you ever want to see us again, come give us the sendoff of a lifetime to let us know we are loved the more loved we feel, the sooner we will return. May 15th at Pete’s Candy Store. More to come on that one.
4. Congratulations to our very own Ross Bollinger for Graduating College.
Ross made new cartoon!
Me make cartoon ya yaya!
Living The Dream
Moments ago the surviving cast members of The Godfather 2 came to our door with a show opportunity this Saturday at 7. Normally this time frame is reserved for sailing lessons, but they promised us drinks if we play and threatened to steal our bikes if we refuse. See you on Saturday.
Trouble In Paradise
Thank you to every who either helped or came out to matchless last friday. It was a blast for all of us and I hope you guys feel the same way. It would have been a perfect night it Peyton and I didn’t arrive home to a frantic roommate, a toilet cascading water from all points of the bowl and two inches of poopy water on the floor, after a night of plunging and relieving ourselves on the roof, all was restored to its normal state and we continue on our quest for fun and rockin tunes.

keep at it p train!
Show @ Bar Matchless
omewhere amidst the forest bracken, a hedgehog stops in its tracks; a bird stutters its lovelorn call; a worm suspends its eternal slither, and all is silent. Yet an ominous rumbling begins to permeate the earth, rising, rising, and finally breaking forth into a galloping stampede of bearded forest mutants. Jim Carrey-like laughter fills the air and all know…
